Getting Back Into Running

Martha and I have been working towards running again consistently as the wedding approaches (1 month!), and it appears that we have found the perfect way to do so. During my three trips to the Apple Store to have a bad fan replaced, I played a bit with the Nike+iPod packages which have been around for a while. At $35 per, they’re not super expensive & we decided to give them a go. As it turns out, it’s a very well-executed idea that really has potential to change our work-out mentality. Screen grabs are below — you know we had to try it out!

Mixing

Mixing - Still Amazing

Working on some sweet Matt Blair mixes from PC3 for Sean — this is getting to be an enjoyable diversion.

Having a “Significant Other” Changes Things

A funny thing happens when Martha is in town, as I’ve been noticing recently. I never really have thought of myself as particularly unkempt, but maybe I’ve been fooling myself. Consider the following demonstration analysed against Martha’s state of being “in-town” or “out-of-town.”

Martha: Out-of-Town (Martha: Out-of-Town)

Martha: In-Town (Martha: In-Town)

Funny how that works…

Latest Purchase

Just purchased TextMate, a text editor for OS X. I guess that brings me down to a whole new level of tech wizardy. On the bright side, it makes writing in Markdown even easier — now I can post to this site without having to log in, wait for the Wordpress editor to load, and wait for a post to submit. Heck, I wrote a snippet to convert images for upload from the editor as well.

Finally, Some Songwriting

I’m almost scared to hope for too much when we begin writing tomorrow afternoon. The more I think about it, the more I wonder if it isn’t imperative we be writing for the church. Duane’s done a lot to get that started and Matt did even more before that, but there hasn’t been much done to start any kind of true process. I’m very excited about doing something in earnest now.

It’s a sad thing to be leaving right as it starts to get intentional, but here’s hoping for the best. We need something to happen.
